晚上去看了”Aquila Theatre Company”演出的莎士比亚的Twelfth Night。之前有在学校的网站下了Study Guide看了一下，知道了大致情节和人物。不过今晚观看的结果就是绝大多数都没听懂-_-。不光是因为演员憋成英国口音，台词充斥thee, thou, thy这样的古英语，以及Shakespeare自己造的词，比如hobnob意为to defeat，label意为no，lapse意为to compel, to convince；更重要的是莎同学写的台词环环紧扣，很多笑料都是一些词句绕来绕去，听得懂文字也理解不全意思。有一段我看着台上的演员，就感觉他们在说外星语言，还好有些场景有不少肢体语言，当然大致意思还是能够听懂，否则就痛苦死了。引用study guide里给的几句台词：

SIR TOBY BELCH: Shall I bid him go?
FESTE: What an if you do?
SIR TOBY BELCH: Shall I bid him go, and spare not?
FESTE: O no, no, no, no, you dare not.
SIR TOBY BELCH: Out o’tune, sir: ye lie. Art any more than a steward? Dost thou think, because thou art virtuous, there shall be no more cakes and ale?
FESTE: Yes, by Saint Anne, and ginger shall be hot i’ the mouth too.
SIR TOBY BELCH: Thou’rt i’ the right. Go, sir, rub your chain with crumbs. A stoup of wine, Maria!

彻底晕倒，看我都看不懂。。。不过基本还是决定除了电影，以后也要多利用这种performance的机会，这毕竟是上大学的一大好处。
