Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson

上周末又去看了出百老汇音乐剧，Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson。这戏之前是在 Off-Broadway 小剧场，显然很成功，于是这个秋天转战 Broadway 大剧场。Andrew Jackson 是美国第七任总统，本人就很富争议很传奇，推行平民主义，但同时又支持黑奴制和移除印第安人。当然这部剧不是历史正剧，而是真把 Jackson 搞成一 rock star，且既反讽又搞笑死，用编剧的话说，是 funny political theater。快200年前的政治原来真和现在还没那么大差别，加上正好美国中期选举，气氛很是契合。看之前我其实莫名觉得不会喜欢，结果看完就觉得相当不错，尤其头一次转场华盛顿时，乐死个人。演员都演得超级卖力，我其实觉得这部剧的风格更适合小剧场，大剧场总就容易有冷的危险，但每一个演员从头至尾充满热情的表演就愣是彻底把感觉撑了起来。反正看来小剧场也有很多优秀剧，下次去找个 Off-Broadway的来看。下面奉上开场曲 Populism Yea Yea，很充分体现此剧的讽刺又搞笑的风格哪。当然我其实也很想放男主角超用力大唱 “Life sucks, and my life sucks in particular” 那首来着，哈哈。
