今天在English The Real Deal看到了Murphy’s Law。 If anything can go wrong, it will。
MURPHY’S LAWS
- Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
- If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
- If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
- If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
- Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
- If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
- Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
- Mother nature is a bitch.
- It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
- Everything takes longer than you think.
- Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
- Every solution breeds new problems.
The chance of a slice of bread falling butter side down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet(面包掉落有黄油的一面着地的概率正比于地毯的价格)。上面还强调Murphy was an optimist。 The Murphy Philosophy: Smile . . . tomorrow will be worse. lol
