今天在一个网站看到忘记别人名字时可以使用的小trick,如下:
If you are unable to remember someone’s first name, simply ask them: “What’s your name?” When they reply with their first name, laugh and say “Oh no, I knew that, of course. I meant your last name”. This is a much more acceptable thing to forget–and you still get their full name.
美国人觉得中国人名字不好念,我也觉得美国人名字不好记,一方面重名太多,无数 mike joe 分也分不清,另一方面不重名的那些有的比较怪我也记不住读音。还有的是很多人都喜欢起别名,其他人对他们的称呼和 first last middle name 都完全没关系,我上周预约教室被告知去找bill,还加上一个我当然记不住的很怪的 last name,结果查了半天名册也没有个bill,问了别人才知道那人其实正名叫william,咳咳。
不过以后往名字,可以试试这个trick,不过就怕他们念了一遍后我还是重复不来哈。
